Aussie Beef Mince Pie

- 500g beef mince

- 1 onion, finely chopped

- 2 garlic cloves, minced

- 1 carrot, finely chopped

- 1 celery stick, finely chopped

- 2 tbsp plain flour

- 1 cup beef stock

- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

- 2 tbsp tomato paste

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 2 sheets of puff pastry

- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)


1. Preheat oven to 200°C.

2. In a large pan, cook onion and garlic until softened.

3. Add beef mince and cook until browned.

4. Stir in carrot, celery, and flour, cooking for 2 minutes.

5. Add beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste. Simmer for 15 minutes, then season with salt and pepper.

6. Line a pie dish with one sheet of puff pastry, fill with mince mixture, and top with the second sheet.

7. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
